CRITICAL LAWYERS AT WARWICK

a student-run association from Warwick Law School

CLAW is a platform for Warwick Law students who aspire to pursue non-commercial legal careers.

Whether it's family law, environmental law, human rights law or law and development; CLAW is interested in it all.

Through a variety of events, projects and opportunities, we aim to empower students to explore the diverse areas the legal sector has to offer.

Projects & Events / spotlighting non-commercial legal activities and opportunities

We're writing a book!

The CLAW Critical Handbook will be an edited collection of essays focusing on how intersections of race, class, wealth, gender and sexuality play out in the law.

Other focus points will include decolonising the curriculum and critical introductions to core Law subjects, such as Property, Contract, Tort and Criminal Law.

The collection will feature writing from academics and scholars, finalist undergraduates, as well as postgraduate and graduate students.

Court Visits

We organise free group visits to courts local to Coventry and Warwickshire

Lawyer and Firm Visits

We invite solicitors and barristers to share their insights and experiences on campus. We also organise trips to firms for open days/evenings.

Non-Law Speakers

Not sure you want to practice law? We invite speakers who work in government & policy-making, NGOs and business to share their career paths.
